In one of our bible study, we considered Praying in Spirit as one of the boosters of prayer, among other things. We particularly looked at this factor while considering the key of Prayer in command and manifesting supernatural. Though there were questions on this subject, and in particular on the issue of speaking in tongue, Gift of Prophesy and the gifts of interpretation.

The Holy Spirit, will not allow me to keep silence, but has prompt me and show reveal to me some vital things that need to be understood, on the issue of Praying in Spirit and the interpretation gift. Therefore, I will like to first define Praying in Spirit, Gift of prophesy and what Gift of Interpretation of tongue.

Praying in Spirit or tongue is praying speaking an unknown tongue or language but only know and understand by Spirit of God. It is God’s giving weapon, that devil do not understand that gives us access to the throne of God. No one understand it, devil inclusive, do not understand. It is speaking in God mysteries. Tongues is inspired utterance in an unknown tongue.

Prophecy is inspired utterance in a known tongue.

Interpretation of tongues is inspired utterance in your own tongue to give forth that which was said in tongues.

Corinthians 14:2 (NKJV) “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries”.

Romans 8:26-27 (NKJV) “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us[a] with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God”

The following are some of the things that happens when we pray in Spirit or tongue:

• The Spirit also helps our infirmities, (weakness or limit we experience in prayer) so we can pray the way we suppose to pray. Rm 8:26a
• He Spirit itself makes intercession for us with a deep inarticulate sound of pain which cannot be uttered. Rm 8:26b
• He search our heart, to know exactly what our needs are (guide against misplace of priorities in prayer), and intercedes in line with the will of God. Rm 8:27
• Because, opposition operate mostly in the spirit realm, which are beyond human understanding. Eph. 6:12-13, 18.
• The Spirit has the knowledge of standard (capacity) and measure of an enemy and He lifts up higher standard (measure or capacity) against them. Is, 59:19.
• The voice of the Spirit no devil can understand, only God do because they are mysteries. 1 Cor. 14:2.
• He takes you into heaven’s frequency, enabling you to pray with precision the express will of God for that situation .1 Cor. 2:11.
• We are praying to God who is a Spirit, because we are made of Spirit, Soul and body. By praying in tongue, Spirit-Spirit communication is enhance. Jn.4:24.

I did say, earlier, that no one including the devil do understand you except the God you are praying to, by His Spirit at which you are engage, because the Bible so;

1 Corinthians 14:2 (NKJV) “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries”.

But, questions have arouse, on why;

1 – In some cases, somebody could hear or understand the language unknowns to the one praying in the Spirit?

By, the Spirit of God and His word; no one can , as indicated in 1 Corinthians 14:2, except on two instances;

1 – God, could decides to let another person hear your prayer you are praying in the tongue in his or her own language he or she understand, because;

• Is either He was talking to you, in repose to your prayer on the steps you should need to take, but discover you are not or can understand Him.
• Some time, when you are praying in Spirit, the Holy Spirit may be speaking through you in Prophesy to someone in the language he or she understand. Or someone who has the gift of interpretation hearing and understanding what you are saying to some the third person in question.

This is where many people who claim to have the gift of interpretation misunderstood all together.

2 –You could be speaking in prophesy and to someone or a second person who has interpretation gift could understood you for the purpose of the third person who is the beneficiary of the message of prophesy.

So, there is a need to emphasis that no one except God could understand when you are praying is Spirit. There is different between, prophesying and interpretation.

In conclusion, I will encourage every born again child of God, who want to manifest and command supernatural in prayer to engage praying in spirit, for the purpose of some of the benefits listed above.
